Fluffy, lightly sweetened doughnuts that you’ll crave every day!
Doughnuts from Leporo Doughnut Kōbō, a mom and pop shop in Sengawa.
Of the duo, she has experience as a pastry chef and takes special care with the shaping and proofing. She also tries to use as little oil as possible, which helps keep the doughnuts from going stale the next day.
“Since they’re not oily, you can’t help but gobble them up,” says a local elder customer. On weekends, the shop makes and sells out of nearly 700 doughnuts per day.
The rich variety of flavors is also something to look forward to. They’ve sold about 60 different types of doughnuts so far.
Every morning, they sell about 12 varieties, including plain, cinnamon, and other standards, as well as seasonal doughnuts such as raspberry jam and fig with cream cheese.
One of their best is the roast nuts trio with hazelnut chocolate, which makes liberal use of house-roasted nuts. You can also get a boxed assortment with cookies and other baked sweets.
